Sister Moonshine is a musical tapestry made from some of Wauconda's finest live performers, influenced by rock, soul, funk and blues. The band includes Heather Moran as the lead vocalist, multi-instrumentalist Steve Gritman on guitar, fiddle and vocals, Dan Patten on keyboard, Mike Ryan on bass and Pat Ryan on percussion. The musicians of Sister Moonshine perform all over Chicagoland, especially in the Lake county area. Some venues include Strawberry Moon, Middleton's, JJ Twigs, Rugan's, Bliss, Main Street Outfitters, The Vibe, Dock's Bar and Lindy's Landing. Their rich and eclectic songlist contains the music of Adele, Amy Winehouse, Maroon 5, Rolling Stones, Rusted Root, Linda Ronstadt, Grace Potter and the Nocturnal, Hall and Oates, Pink Floyd, Talking Heads, Nirvana, little soul, a lot of funk, some classic rock, some world music sounds...all with our own twist on it...and we specialize in doing tunes that make people say, "Holy Sh*t. I love that song."

SISTER MOONSHINE HEADLINING WAUCONDA STREET DANCE '14



Sister Moonshine is excited to announce that they will be headlining the 2014 Wauconda Street Dance on Saturday, August 30th, 2014 on the main stage at 10pm. What sets Sister Moonshine above the rest is the musical allure of incredible musicians. Melding the diverse talent of Heather Moran on lead vocals, multi-instrumental Steve Gritman, the killer keyboard sounds of Dan Patten, the rock solid bass lines provided by Mike Ryan and the extraordinary grooves of drummer Pat Ryan, Sister Moonshine is a musical tapestry influenced by rock, soul, funk and blues. In any given performance you can hear a diverse range from such artists as Rusted Root, Maroon 5, The Wild Feathers, Hall and Oates, Grace Potter, Melissa Etheridge, Peter Gabriel, Paul Simon, John Prine, Squeeze and Enter the Haggis.

The Annual Street Dance will have other live bands, 3 stages, a teen area with live music, food vendors, raffles and fun for everyone. Bring non-perishable food items or school supplies to donate. This is a free event for all ages.

 

 

 

 

SISTER MOONSHINE TO CLOSE OUT SHAMROCK THE BLOCK 2014



Sister Moonshine is really excited to be performing at one of Wauconda's biggest events of the year.  Local establishments have joined together with STAR Charities to create fun events for the weekend for the whole family. All week long shops and restaurants will be selling shamrocks for $1, $5, and $10 which will be used to decorate all the venues in town for the weekend festivities. The proceeds from the shamrock sales will go to benefit the beautification of Main Street. There will also be a 50/50 raffle, with proceeds benefiting the restocking of Bang's Lake.From Friday to Sunday,there will be events at local area venues. Check the schedule frequently for updates and additions to the daily events. The charities that will be benefitted are: Bangs Lake Advisory Group, The Main Street Attraction, and St. Baldrick's.
